Why does my project look different than the moodboard i chose
There's a multitude of reasons why a finished project may look a bit different than the inspo, to name a few common reasons:
The Initial buildout is only the beginning
When we deliver an initial buildout, the intent is not to explore every single possibility of design. It's meant to be a starting point, and as we continue past that starting point through standard requests, we'll continue to explore ways to refine, expand and improve the buildout.
We tried out the missing elements, and they didn't quite work together
Each moodboard we present is usually 2 or 3 separate graphics, while they all look good individually, sometimes in execution, they can't all be meshed together to create a consistent buildout. Combining each element can also feel overwhelming, or too cluttered, so we'll sometimes need to simplify the look.
The vision we had when presenting the mood board wasn't dependent on that specific missing element
Sometimes when we share a graphic, we have in mind only one specific aspect of that graphic, for instance, the colors or the type style, but not every single part of it.
We know it wouldn't be right for your community
Sometimes as we get further into a project we realize certain elements either don't fit in your community, OR they're too similar to a recent moodboard and we don't want to conflict with it.
We just didn't use it
Sometimes there's no specific reason beyond just trusting our gut and experience. Art is never a precise process, and we proudly follow our instincts. This can be difficult because it doesn't provide a concrete reason, but hopefully, you'll find you can trust us.
QUICK TIP:
Upon approving a moodboard, sharing additional feedback about which elements you like the most is always welcome. Know that we rarely use every element presented in order to make sure the moodboard doesn't feel too crowded or scattered.
